Threshold is committed to promoting a culture of learning and development. In particular, we encourage staff to improve their current qualifications and ensure that they are equipped with the underpinning knowledge of the Therapeutic Community. We actively promote evidence based practice and support candidates from NVQ to PhD.

Our in-service training runs over three set terms.

Basic Concepts in Psychiatry, Therapeutic Communities, Counselling skills and theory Assessment and Care planning ,Small Group relations conferences, Clinical Seminars, Group work Theory and Practice, Managing Challenging Behaviour, Sexuality and Art Therapy are just some of the events offered.

We also support staff on external courses such as the association of therapeutic communities annual conference at windsor, our annual group psychotherapy conference run in partnership with colleagues from the american group psychotherapy association.
