Sophia House

This house offers accommodation to 18 adults within fourteen single and two shared self contained flats.

Shared amenities include the laundry and an additional lounge, dining and kitchen area to enable the residents to actively participate in the life of the project with weekly community meetings and occasional community meals.

Accommodation is offered through a selection procedure and a panel based on Housing Association principles but with specific reference to special needs of the clientele.

• To provide clients with the opportunity for independent living
• To provide a supported environment which can improve emotional strength, interpersonal relationships, increase self confidence and to enable people to develop greater control over their own lives.
• To initiate and maintain appropriate involvement in the wider community.

Sophia House is staffed on a 24 hour basis and whilst care is not provided within the unit, Staff will input to provide support commensurate with an individuals need. Where this support exceeds the remit of supported housing, a placement will be reviewed.
